Here are the Rosso Verona marble sidewalks and coliseum of Verona, Italy
They date back to Roman times and are the inspiration for the "new" look of Antiqued marble that is so popular now. It had just rained so the marble is a reddish hue, but when dry it is a soft pink.

These are the mountains above Carrara and Massa, Italy. They are made of solid white marble and that is not snow you see but the quarries of Carrara, Gioia, and Statuary White marble. The same marble Michaelango had quarried to make his David hundreds of years ago.
